Salamanca Place
Hobart is the right place to explore great Australian colonial architecture
and for that. I explored the row of beautiful sandstone warehouses on the
harbourfront that date back to 1830s. Warehouses of the past are tastefully
developed to house galleries, restaurants, nightspots and shops that are
offering various things from vegetables to antiques.
Battery Point
Battery Point offers the luxury of exploring various tourist attractions at
one single place. Every attraction here including Arthur's Circus, St
George's Anglican Church and Anglesea Barracks carry a distinct charm of
their own. But the major attraction is the Van Diemen's Land Folk Museum,
the oldest folk museum in the country.
Cascade Brewery
Tourists should visit the Cascade Brewery for excellent beer. The visit
gives an insight into the brewing process. An introductory video lesson,
some free samples of beer and the gorgeous garden around the brewery makes
the visit a memorable time.
Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery
Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery is another major attraction in Hobart.
The gallery is housed in Hobart's oldest building, the Commissariat Store,
which was built in 1808. The museum section displays a Tasmanian aboriginal
display and relics from the state's colonial heritage.A collection of
Tasmanian colonial art in the gallery is quite impressive.
